Meet the Breeder

Bred with Devotion

Emirates Kitten Haven was founded on a singular conviction: that purebred kittens in the UAE deserved a breeder who treated every litter with the care, expertise, and devotion it warrants.

What began as a deep personal passion for pedigree cats has grown into one of the UAE’s most respected breeding programmes — built quietly, over years, on the foundation of genuine love for these remarkable animals and the families that welcome them.

Our kittens are raised within our home, never in cages. They are handled daily from birth, exposed to the gentle sounds and rhythms of family life, and prepared with meticulous care for the transition to their new home. Every family we place a kitten with receives not just a companion, but a lifelong partnership with us.

What We Believe

Our Values

These are not marketing statements. They are the principles that have guided every decision we have made since our very first litter.

Passion Over Profit

Every decision we make is guided by our love for these breeds and our responsibility to the animals in our care — never by commercial considerations.

Animal Welfare First

Our cats and kittens live as part of our family — in comfort, with daily human contact, enrichment, and the kind of devoted care they deserve.

Responsible Breeding

We plan every litter carefully, prioritising genetic health, sound temperament, and the wellbeing of our breeding queens above all else.

Rigorous Health Standards

Health testing, veterinary partnerships, and transparent documentation are non-negotiable aspects of our programme.

Lifelong Relationships

We remain connected to our families long after a kitten has settled into its new home — offering guidance, care advice, and genuine support.

Genuine Expertise

Years of dedicated study, mentorship, and hands-on experience with multiple pedigree breeds inform every aspect of what we do.

Our Philosophy

How We Think About Breeding

Three principles that shape every decision we make — from which cats we breed to how we select our families.

1

We breed for the kitten, not the market.

Every litter is planned with the individual kitten's wellbeing as the primary consideration. We do not breed to meet demand — we breed when our queens are ready, when the genetics are right, and when we have the capacity to raise each kitten with the attention it deserves.

2

A pedigree kitten is a lifetime commitment.

We take on the responsibility of every kitten we bring into the world. If circumstances ever change for a family who has taken one of our kittens, we will always take that cat back. No Emirates Kitten Haven kitten will ever end up in a shelter.

3

The family home is the only environment.

Our kittens are born in our family home and raised there until they leave. They learn the rhythms of domestic life — voices, footsteps, household routines — from their very first days. This is the foundation of the sociable, settled temperament our families receive.

Our Breeds

A Carefully Curated Programme

We specialise in a select number of pedigree breeds, chosen for their compatibility with the UAE lifestyle, their temperament, and their enduring appeal as companion animals.

By focusing on fewer breeds, we are able to invest deeply in each — developing genuine expertise, maintaining rigorous health protocols, and ensuring that each kitten represents the very best of its breed.

Our breeds include the British Shorthair, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Persian, Scottish Fold, Bengal, and Sphynx — each selected for distinct qualities that make them exceptional companions.

“Every kitten we raise is a reflection of everything we believe a breeder should be.”

We welcome enquiries from families who share our values — who understand that a pedigree kitten is a long-term companion, a responsibility, and a privilege.

Health Documentation

Our Health Standards

Transparency is at the core of responsible breeding. Every kitten leaves with complete, verifiable health documentation.

Pre-Breeding Health Testing

All breeding cats undergo relevant genetic and cardiac health testing before entering our programme. This includes HCM echocardiography for Maine Coons and Ragdolls, PKD screening for Persians, and PK Deficiency testing for Bengals. Test results are available to families on request.

Veterinary Health Certificates

Every kitten receives a comprehensive veterinary health examination before leaving our care. The health certificate forms part of the documentation package provided to every family at handover.

Vaccination Records

Kittens leave with their initial FVRCP vaccination completed and fully documented. The vaccination card details the vaccine administered, the date, the batch number, and the administering veterinarian — a complete and verifiable record.

Microchipping

All kittens are microchipped before leaving our care. The microchip certificate, including the chip number and registration details, forms part of the handover documentation.

Pedigree Documentation

Our kittens are registered with recognised international breed registries. Pedigree certificates, confirming lineage over multiple generations, accompany every kitten.

Full health documentation is provided to every family at kitten handover — including vaccination records, health certificates, microchip registration, and pedigree papers. We are happy to answer questions about any aspect of our health programme at any stage of your enquiry.

Kitten Socialisation

How We Raise Our Kittens

Socialisation is not a single event — it is a continuous, carefully managed process that begins before the kitten's eyes are even open.

Weeks 1–3

Foundation

Kittens are handled gently from the first day — short, careful sessions that establish trust and begin the process of human familiarisation before the eyes are even fully open.

Weeks 3–7

Socialisation Window

The critical socialisation period. Kittens are exposed to household sounds, gentle visitors, and varied experiences. This is where temperament is shaped most profoundly.

Weeks 7–12

Enrichment and Play

Structured play sessions, introduction to scratching posts, litter training, and continued daily handling. Kittens begin developing the confidence and curiosity that will define their adult personality.

Weeks 12+

Pre-Departure Preparation

Final veterinary checks, vaccinations, microchipping, and a gradual introduction to carrier familiarity. Kittens leave prepared, healthy, and genuinely ready for their new home.
